Minor Chords (Triads)

Minor chords, or triads as shown below, are three tones played as a group formed from intervals of thirds. Chords, when in their original (root) position, are named by the bottom tone - the root. Minor chords are determined to be minor by distance from the root to the third (second tone) being three half steps. A Minor Chord is also determined by using the first, third, and fifth tones of a Minor Scale.
